Initially a survey was conducted by JK MAASS foundation in it’s target area. The outcome of the survey was very much shocking that most of the identified disabled were not availing any rehabilitation services. The reason behind is their illiteracy and poor financial status.
JK MAASS foundation organized various camps to raise awareness on disability rehabilitation, cause and effect of disability and preventive measures to be followed to overcome disability. Rehabilitation is not a short-term process; it has to be followed regularly. Also person with disability needs regular counseling and guidance. These services are provided by the foundation through home based visit. The foundation is also working to raise awareness of the need of these people with disability so that they get the support they deserve from the general public and from the Government.

Also in a view of improving the financial status of the family of the person with disability, the foundation does preliminary work to form Special Self help group. The base work was successful in 20 villages and 10 Special Self help group were formed.

One such group is formed and has satisfied all the terms and condition of Tamil Nadu State Government to receive subsidy on loan from State Bank of India.
